First Aid Training Courses in Victoria
Victoria First Aid provides a variety of first aid and CPR training courses. The most popular first aid courses available through the workplace approved are standard, emergency and childcare first aid. This page will briefly explain the details of those courses and the CPR training involved. All of these courses provide CPR training and once candidates complete the program they will immediately receive a workplace approved first aid, CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) certificate.
This certificate, which typically comes as a wallet sized card (candidates can also receive a wall mount certificate), is valid throughout Canada for 3 years. Candidates can also receive a wall-mount sized certificate upon request. The most popular and requested first aid courses that we offer in Victoria are standard, emergency and childcare first aid. All of these courses are offered at the lowest prices with the highest quality standards.
Standard First Aid
This first aid program is the most popular and detailed program offered through Victoria First Aid. It is a 16 hour course that includes CPR and AED training. The length of the course varies slightly depending on the skill level of the class and the CPR training opted with the program. We offer this course standard with CPR level “C” but provide candidates the option of pairing this course with CPR “HCP” (CPR for health care providers) for a small additional cost. A wide range of first aid topics are incorporated into this course including sudden medical emergencies, environmental emergencies, cardiovascular emergencies, burns, external and internal bleeding, anaphylaxis, diabetic and respiratory emergencies. Workplace Emergency First Aid
This course is designed for individuals that need to be certified to meet WorkSafe BC standards. This course is equivalent to occupational first aid level 1 and meets BC legislative requirements for first aid (read more here). This course takes 8 hours to complete and participants must attend 100% of the course to successfully complete the program. Course content includes cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator training. Certification is valid for 3 years.
Emergency First Aid
This first aid and CPR program is a very popular 8 hour program that covers basic emergency recognition and management skills. CPR level “A” (basic life support CPR) comes standard with this course but candidates can also opt to take this course with CPR level “C”. Successful candidates of this program will receive a emergency first aid certificate which is valid for 3 years. The award is a licensing certificate and the size of a wallet sized credit card. Childcare First Aid
Victoria First Aid Childcare first aid program is designed for individuals that work in the childcare or day care industry. This is an intensive 8 hour program (can be as long as 10 hours) that includes CPR level “B” training (no other level of CPR can be partnered with this course). AED training is also included. Candidates that pass this course will get a certificate that is valid for 3 years. Wall mount and wallet sized certificates are available.
